This is where the importance of having a properly installed deadbolt strike plate comes in to play. The deadbolt strike plate acts as an anchor point and means to reinforce the door frame and deter, even prevent the door from being kicked in by intruders. Deadbolt strike plates should always be installed with longer 3 or 4 inch anchor screws that will attach to the 2X4's that actually are the framing for your door and the strike plate is not just attached to the door frame molding. No matter how expensive of a lock that you have, if it's not installed properly, are no more secure than the cheapest lock that you can buy when it's not properly installed either. The bottom line here is that the way that the strike plate is installed (or not installed) will determine the true security of your door.
